The-Rink.com co-hosts Jeff “Gatekeeper” Osborn and John “Double J” Jaeckel are joined by author, occasional Colorado Avalanche emergency backup goalie, and head honcho over at The Goalie Guild, Justin Goldman for this knowledge packed episode

  • While Justin navigated terrible traffic, the hockey Statler and Waldorf discuss the previous four Blackhawks games where they were bipolar
  • The Hayden, Franson, Jurco and Gustafsson moves
  • Justin jumps in and gives us the low down on The Goalie Guild and what they are doing to help young goalies develop
  • We talk at length about Blackhawks goalies Jeff Glass, Anton Forsberg, Collin Delia and former Hawk #LemontNativeScottDaring while John massaged his bunions
  • Gate and Justin geek over European Heavy Metal while John probably (definitely) napped
  • Gate and John discuss the Anthony Duclair for Richard Panik trade.
  • We ran long and didn’t’ get to question but we promise to follow-up.

The whole thing should be a live video broadcast just like the Dan Patrick show.

Finally got around to this. Like to think of myself as aware of most of the intricacies of the goaltending position but found listening to a pro speak at ease without restraints very helpful. Would love to hear from Goalie Guild guy as the season goes on. ……… Yea it’s long but it really is a must listen for those interested in the position whether you’ve played the position or not.

Brings me back to the Glass vs Forberg playing time debate. No doubt you can see Forsberg’s foundation but Goldman lays out the path he took showing he’s a legit prospect.
