    Solid write up John.

I’m thinking the only reason we got the Stan Bowman apology tour – the follow up to the hugely unsuccessful ‘summer of suck tour 2015’ – was because of the Laz article with Toews.  Toews is a team guy who’s loathe to publicly criticize mgt.   But he laid them out in that article.

Suddenly we had the zoom call with mgt. and the core 4 and then Bowman sitting down with everybody in town where he droned on and on and basically said nothing.  Shouldn’t this all of happened prior to that?

This will be the same team muddled in limbo with the weight of those contracts.  My bigger fear is Bowman being allowed to trade those players.  We’ve seen the return or lack thereof for Lehner, Matta, Craw, Saad, Joker…and that’s just recently.

Bowman’s track record as well all well know is getting fleeced early and often in any kind of deal.

The bigger concern has to be over Stan’s head – Stan mentioned on the Score 670am on Friday morning that he and Peter spent a lot of time together in the bubble in edmonton. Gulp.  Stan said Peter is aligned with what he’s doing…so as we feared – there will be no new pres of hockey ops to get rid of bowman as we’d hoped.  With no gate coming in the Hawks will sit on their GM and coach – because they’d have to pay a new pres. and new GM and coach.  (Once a Wirtz…)

So instead of taking advantage of fans not being in the stands and make moves they’re going to tread water for the foreseeable future.  Except now they won’t have any goaltending.  The defense is still a sieve (how many ways has Bowman tried to patch it).

We hear about a youth movement – well how many new Dman and how many changes can they actually make this year besides Stans new Euro player of the moment?

I would assume they’ll tread water until the big 4’s deals are up.  Another 3 years or so?  And have they bottomed out yet?  With the lack of a viable tendy this year – yikes.

JJ, let me add “show my eyes don’t tell my ears”.  Until Stan brings back picks and prospects he’s doing the same thing he’s done the last 5 yrs.  Other than Lehner for a 2nd and Perlini for Regula Stan has not EVER gotten futures in a deal.

Yes we can speculate why Stan/Rocky/Peter decided on the PR tour but they are just words to me.  Adding Janmark, Wallmark and Pious while deleting Maata to shed salary and open a spot for a Mitchell shows my EYES they are not rebuilding and not good enough to be a playoff team.   Same as the last FIVE yrs.   ……………… But I have to add that going with the in house goalies is a back door tank.

Indeed JJ, nothing has changed other than the new found “transparency”.      You are correct when you say “follow the money” and that also fits Rocky too and a possible saving grace for Hawk’s fans.  Good bet the PR Tour has much to do with, if not all, of an attempt by Rocky, or those who answer to him, to get some people to buy tickets as ticket sales fall off.

If folks don’t buy the “transperency” thing or tickets it could push Rocky to move on from Stan.
