I suppose, if Brandon Manning and Jan Rutta can be traded, then so can the Gus Twins.

    Hmmmm. I don’t understand this.

Forsling has been bad and Dahlstrom has fallen back to earth. Yikes.

They aren’t going to put Forsling on waivers, and Dahlstrom is more of a 3rd pair d-man than Jokiharju

It is a good move to send Joki down. He has been struggling since he got back from the World Juniors. He was easily pushed off the puck. He has actually been picking up some of Keith’s bad habits. They also need to send Forsling down and bring up 2 new Dmen and showcase them for possible trades. Rockford has 9 Dmen on the roster as of today which is way to many.

As far Gustafsson goes he is the leader of the PP right now. That 1st unit on the PP work well together and shouldn’t be broken up. If the Hawks get a good/great offer for Gustafsson then take it if not he is a cheap Dman for next year. He can play on the 3rd line but still be put on the PP.

Somehow they need to get Keith to okay a trade to get rid of him. Winnipeg would make more sense but Edmonton might like him also.

Seabrook is unmovable unless he okays a trade which I seriously doubt. If not start sitting him every game or put him on the 3/4 line.

Dahlstrom is doing good with Murphy on the 3rd line but Murphy could move up to the 2nd line.

Just because the Hawks have guys who may be good/great Dmen doesn’t mean they will make the Hawks next year. Remember if Murphy and Forsling weren’t injured Joki may have been sent back to the minors.

Why the hell did we burn a year of his contract??? Any sane person would have said a 19 year old with no AHL experience was going to struggle. These decisions are maddening but to be expected from a team that can’t explain if it’s tanking, building, competing, or God knows what. Please tell me Stan Bowman is going to be fired soon….

The only place he would go, if not the NHL, is the Rockford.  This still burns a year off.  Either way, he was playing some level of pro this year.  The only way his deal slides is if he’s back in the WHL, which wasn’t a viable option.

They aren’t going to send Forsling through waivers.  They want him to play, so they can hopefully get something for him.  He’s most NHL ready available guy they have.  Someone would take him off waivers, and the Hawks would get no compensation.

Great point about Jokiharju, if Forsling and Murphy weren’t hurt, Jokiharju would have began the season in Rockford (and maybe stayed there).

Forsling is still waiver exempt. per capfriendly he still has 60 games left.
