It is relatively safe to say that most impact players are not signing free agent contracts in April or May, however, when the Blackhawks inked Dominik

I like this guy – nothing to go on but the past Worlds’ highlight reel. however something about him – nose for the puck & a knack for putting in the back of the net.  Time will tell of course, still, I’m calling him to make the big club – and stick around all season, making solid bottom 6 contributions all tear.

Believe I’m no Bowman fan but this one’s gonna one I gotta give props to.

Kahun, Fortin, Dylan Sikura and Victor Ejdsell all have legit chances to make the Hawks and contribute on the 3rd line or possibly higher in the lineup. I wouldn’t be surprised to see all 4 of them on the team and skating regular mins. The thing I like about Kahun is his 200ft game which should score him some PK minutes and make him a regular.

I am hopeful  Q will look at a 4th line of Kruger, Hayden and Andreas Martinsen. If Healthy Kruger will be in the mix with PK mins with Toews. If Kahun can secure another forward PK spot and Saad grabs another I feel better that the Hawks PK forwards aren’t the worst in the league.  Of course, none of that helps the Hawks blue line which is abysmal at best.

I think of him as Krueger with speed. A bottom six guy but if he can set up Sikura and Edsell the bottom six scoring goes up from nothing for the last two years. Krueger goes to 4D where he is best. So with the exception of  2C all would be 50% or better in the dot. That alone helps the possession game and saves 19 from taking all the defense zone draws and PK.

Hopefully Stanbo gets a break here with Kahun, faceoff wins help keep the puck out of the Hawks net. We saw what losing the draw did to the Hawks game plan all last year.  They seldom seemed to control the puck for long periods, resulting in too much dzone time, and puck chasing. Can’t score if you’re chasing after the puck all game.

Not keen on Martinsen but I’m figuring Q likes his “sandpaper” so I suspect he makes the club.

All the others you cite, count me in & I’d go full “yoot” project this season. I like Kampf too. Why not? Crow’s career is over I think & Toews’ greatness at least 2 years gone, too.  Always will love Captain of course; still, if I could move that contract – Price for Jonny straight up … With Carey Price – healthy obv – CHI is right back in the hunt for glory.

Saad, I’d move too – I know some don’t like CAR’s Faulk but I’ve seen him take over a game & believe Hawk fans would REALLY take to him. ‘Course I’m just a barstool expert … Yeah Kunitz, Manning, & Ward (w/ a frickin No Trade) were genius level moves by Bowman the younger …
