January 10, 2018 at 5:39 pm #2906Dan WagnerParticipantFinally a real “Wednesday Night Rivalry” unlike last week. I hope Kampf buries the puck tonight. He deserves a goal for all his hard work lately.

Panik – $2.8 mil this year and next
Dauphin ELC – $745,000 (but in minors so $0) (then RFA)Duclair – $1.2 Mil this year (then RFA)
Clendening – $650,000 (but in minors so $0) (then RFA)Net = Hawks relief of $1.6 in Salary. Probably closer to par in actual money paid out to the players for this season. Next season would be a savings of 2.8 if Duclair isn’t signed
January 10, 2018 at 5:53 pm #2910Jeff OsbornKeymasterThe Hawks save about $1.6M against the cap and acquire Jurco pt 2

If Clendening goes to Rockford,$1.6 million
January 10, 2018 at 6:02 pm #2914DK002ParticipantBelieve me I’m no fan of Bowman with the Panik deal being another bad one. But at least he’s gone and cap relief hopefully next year. Meanwhile Jurco another bad move by Stan is still here…yuk. And while they’ll get more cap savings is this team really a buyer at the deadline? I can’t see it with the way this team has played this season.
January 10, 2018 at 6:06 pm #2915fattybeefParticipantSo is that a salary – more to come trade – or a hockey trade?

Good question
January 10, 2018 at 6:11 pm #2917Alan ParsonsParticipantBut Duclair is still only 22, and he does have a lot more to give than Jurco. Looking back a few weeks, there was a tweet that someone wrote about how Panik shouldnt even be on the Hawks and Ryan Hartman had “liked” and maybe had even retweeted it? He quickly deleted the tweet. That was telling and I thought it quite interesting. Makes sense now if Panik wasnt a tight fit in the locker room.
Im more bullish on Duclair than I ever was on Panik.
But the big win in this one is ADAM CLENDENING! HES GONNA BE ALL-MIDWEST IN THE AHL MY FRENTZ
January 10, 2018 at 6:16 pm #2919Alan ParsonsParticipantA couple of weeks ago there was some back and forth, silly talk from me and others about trading for Karlsson. But if you are a dumb GM, and you have a guy who will be a UFA and you know you dont want to give him 100M contract, would you be stupid enough to trade him for a guy like Seabrook, who has a ridiculous contract, but is still relatively serviceable and who would give you a veteran defender with cost certainty, albeit expensive cost certainty? I mean, it would be epically stupid, but perhaps might make sense in a parallel universe sort of way. NHL GMs do stupid things like trading Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson.
January 10, 2018 at 6:37 pm #2921AnonymousInactiveHm. Panik wore out his welcome with another team? Shame. Decent and useful player for crunching guys on the forecheck and swatting rebounds. Lack of playmaking ability was getting frustrating tho. No big deal.
Duclair… reclamation project or chip to get a bigger piece?
January 10, 2018 at 7:17 pm #2927Jeff OsbornKeymasterKane double shifting with the 4th line
January 10, 2018 at 7:37 pm #2928John JaeckelParticipantNice for Seabs
January 10, 2018 at 7:39 pm #2929Kaners Bald SpotParticipantPower play back in the toilet. One game vs a bad hockey club does not a decent power play make.
January 10, 2018 at 7:45 pm #2930John JaeckelParticipantYou know who’s having a nice game so far? Michal Kempny
January 10, 2018 at 7:46 pm #2931John JaeckelParticipantShots 30-11?!
January 10, 2018 at 7:53 pm #2932Jeff OsbornKeymasterthe PP will never be “good”, the opposing PK will just occasionally be “awful”
January 10, 2018 at 7:57 pm #2933Chico MakiParticipantI’m at the game with m daughter. Is there a reason I’m seeing so much Kane Wingels and Bouma?
Just double shifting Showtime?
Or??
