The Blackhawks rebounded a bit this afternoon in Buffalo, after an embarrassingly bad outing in Winnipeg Thursday night. Yet, they couldn’t out 60 min

I was messing with my boat so I just listened. Glad I did.

Actually, in my opinion, Berube is much better than Thibault. I told the powers that be at the time that if Thibault comes back next year I’m not coming back. Lucky for me he wasn’t back. I never saw a goalie flat on his chest more than that guy.

Thought this was an interesting read as far as rebound goals.  A couple yrs old but a good read just the same:  https://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2015/01/24/burying-rebound-top-nhl-goal-source.html

thanks for posting that, Rico. It really reinforces the observations about all the things that have been going wrong in the Hawks’ end of the ice.

The article on rebounds was excellent. That said, You have to assume that Bowman et. al. is very aware of the defensive shortcomings and feel that Sammy can solve the issues. The results so far don’t seem to reflect on what Bowman seems to know, as faceoff and defensive zone lapses seem to be constant every game, every period. I doubt that STL today will show us anything different than any other team that plays physical has all year. The Hawks lack of toughness along the boards leads to turnovers all game, and limits their offensive zone time. Smurf forwards, stick ballet defensemen, and keystone cops positioning is not a successful combo no matter how much speed and stickhandling skill players have today.
