John, Your written and spoken analyses always begin with the premise that the dumb fans have unrealistic expectations for the Hawks and you and yuz boys gonna skool da bums on whats up. Your shtick is predictable and tiresome. Most fans are enjoying this team and are not deluding themselves about their Stanley Cup chances. Perhaps you should give your audience more credit if you want to expand it. Perhaps redirect your energy toward finding a barber and getting a proper haircut

So, instead of shooting the messenger, as you are here, why not refute the points laid out in the article about 5-on-5 play? Maybe you can’t. I don’t know. You’re certainly welcome to.
Even where you’re addressing the article (“no one thinks they’re winning a Cup this year”) avoids the actual point of the article. It’s really ALL about next season and the seasons after and needing to add the kind of players needed to become an elite team again. I think you realize that and you don’t want to face it or respond to it in a logical, supportable way.
I mean, dude, taking a shot at someone’s HAIR? LOL. Just makes it like you’ve got some simmering resentment.

This.
April 27, 2020 at 7:50 pm #17026John JaeckelParticipant
Long over due, IMO. Rocky should have cleaned house, by dumping Bowman and Coliton at the same time. Bowman has to be on his way out, right? The next team president is gonna want his own guy, right? Please say yes.

Pretty sure, yes
Depends what else they do this summer, but overall, I think the positives outweigh the negatives
March 2, 2019 at 5:38 pm #12167John JaeckelParticipantThis one goes in the books, 6-3 #gokingsgo, thx for swinging by RinkRats.
March 2, 2019 at 5:14 pm #12166John JaeckelParticipantSometimes that blind devotion that worked with Saad in 2012 and DeBrincat in 2017 just doesn’t work. See: Sikura in 2019.
March 2, 2019 at 5:08 pm #12165John JaeckelParticipantWhen #anythingcanhappen is a Kings victory
March 2, 2019 at 4:29 pm #12161John JaeckelParticipant“Deadline acquisition” Corey Crawford has given up 4 goals on 15 shots.
March 2, 2019 at 4:21 pm #12160John JaeckelParticipantThat Kempe. Gus Bus stuck in the offensive zone. 4-3 LA.
March 2, 2019 at 4:17 pm #12158John JaeckelParticipantThe Kings are who we thought they were.
March 2, 2019 at 4:16 pm #12157John JaeckelParticipantHawks dominating the middle frame. 3-3.
March 2, 2019 at 4:10 pm #12155John JaeckelParticipantThis is why I said on the RinkCast the other night, you don’t necessarily want to punt on Perlini just yet. He’s never gonna be a big scorer, but he has a size/speed combination the Hawks need more of
March 2, 2019 at 4:08 pm #12154John JaeckelParticipantGive that one to Crawford. Gotta be good for Perlini’s confidence. 3-2.
March 2, 2019 at 4:05 pm #12153John JaeckelParticipantAnd we’re back for the 2nd . . .
March 2, 2019 at 3:55 pm #12151John JaeckelParticipantHawks outshoot LAK 16-11 in the 1st, but are destroyed in the faceoff dot 65-35%. Two short-handed GA are the difference.
March 2, 2019 at 3:44 pm #12149John JaeckelParticipantBrendan Perlini sighting: 3-1.
March 2, 2019 at 3:43 pm #12147John JaeckelParticipantI guess I picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue
