New Rinkcast? Do me! <— Shouted out in Jerry Lewis voice – pointing at the telethon toteboard as it  drum rolled an updated donations tally.

The last few games have shown a couple of nice wins and some better defensive play (big beatdown notwithstanding) and they looked like a real team last night.  Layers in the defensive zone to move the puck out which we hadnt seen at all since Colliton took over, and overall excellent play.   Maybe it is addition by subtraction, no Rutta, Manning, Kunitz, Martinsen helps immensely.  OR…and this is a huge OR…or maybe Colliton needed 20 games or so to get his “system” beat into their heads enough for it to start working.  Which begs the question, why not just have promoted him in August to let them have all of preseason to get the bugs worked out and see who could play?  Or let him help with the personnel decisions and maybe not bring in Manning or Kunitz in the first place?  Glad to see them beat up on some depleted teams in Nashville and Dallas, but those were not exactly marquee wins.  Nashville is head and shoulders above the hawks, but they are also right now a terrible road team and have many of their stud players out injured.  Same with the Stars on defense.  Klingberg didnt look like his old self yet which is good.   Hawks looked amazing last night though.  Great win.   But…    I would like to say that they have turned a corner in the last 5 games (beatdown notwithstanding) but perhaps it is more of their underlying talent expressing just enough of itself to be able to capitalize on a couple of teams at their low points of the season.

Gus – not a good hockey player. Guy clueless in his own end. Shouldn’t look that bad at his age.

Strome is a good hockey player and a summer of gym time with Debrincat makes a massive difference next fall. The dude has a high level of skill and sees the game at exceptionally well. Excellent return for Schmaltz plus they got a guy who can skate good on the 4th line.

Thats all. Lol. How does one get in on this party? Y’all have an interview process?

Nice way to say it. Perlini has size and speed – in a straight line. I have yet to see him wheel through traffic or show much anticipation. Fourth liner so far as far as I can tell. Hopefully he can be taught to make a difference as the first guy in on the forecheck.
