BREAKING: Blackhawks Ink Beaudin to Entry Level Deal

The Blackhawks announced this afternoon that they had signed the second of this summer’s first round draft picks, Nicolas Beaudin, to a max three-year entry level deal at $1,166,700 per season.

The 19-year-old left handed defenseman was drafted in the first round, 27th overall, in the 2018 NHL entry draft.  The pick was acquired from Nashville, along with Victor Ejdsell, for Ryan Hartman and the Blackhawks 5th round pick later in the draft.

Beaudin was highly regarded in this year’s Blackhawks prospect development camp and in training camp, before being sent back to his junior team, Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. As of Friday, Beaudin has nine points (1G,8A) in nine games with the club before going out with a wrist injury on October 19th.

He will remain in Drummondville for the rest of the season. The Blackhawks are now maxed out with 50 organizational standard player contracts.
