Blackhawks Jeff Glass Waived; More Moves to Follow

It was announced, today, that the Blackhawks had put Jeff Glass on waivers to be sent to Rockford. Most likely, the Blackhawks will recall Jean-Francois Berube, who had just come back from his own stint on the disabled list, on Thursday.

Jeff Glass, who was recalled December 28th, was a great “feel good” story for about a month but was eventually exposed as over matched against NHL competition. Glass earned his first NHL win, at the age of 32, on December 29th. His last win was over a month ago, on January 12th.

The story was also a convenient distraction from the many other problems that the Blackhawks were subject to.

If Glass clears waivers the Blackhawks will need to make a follow-up roster move, with Anton Forsberg as the only goalie on the active pro roster. Several reports, and even Corey Crawford himself, have stated that he is not ready to return to action yet. He has skated with the team and taken a few shots, but has not been through a full practice yet.

For the moment, it was time for the Jeff Glass Experience to mercifully end.
