-Our friend’s son, Jack, was recently diagnosed with Hydronephrosis which basically caused his kidneys to all but shut down. Jack’s parents have been quietly dealing with this for the past month as he has been in and out of the hospital. The current prognosis is that Jack will need dialysis 3 times a week for the indefinite future in hopes that his kidneys recover or he will need a kidney transplant.

Good job on the podcast guys, informative. January is the make or break month for the Hawks.

Last season they were mediocre (awful on the PK, historically awful) until late December and then for maybe the next 6-7 weeks were all but unbeatable. For whatever reason, they kick it into gear in the new year, then crap all over themselves in the last 4 weeks of the season. I dont think there are enough reinforcements available to help this team.

Vegas. Vegas is overperforming like mad. Which is kind of awesome. But I keep hearing that they will be buyers not sellers at the deadline. They have like half of their team on expiring contracts. They NEED to sell some of these guys to build up their franchise with picks/prospects. If they let everyone who will be UFA next season walk without any return on them…that would be an epic failure and dereliction of duty by the GM. That team isnt going to win the Cup. And you have to build your franchise for longer term success, no? They did an amazing job of putting together a competitive squad (and hit lightning in a bottle that everyone is having a career year at once). But the reality is they need to do hockey business and sell some of these guys.

You guys laughed at my question but honestly lineups are one of Q’s weaknesses as a coach. Remember fresh legs or playing Brandon Mashinter over Panik? I could go on and on with brutal lineup choices. He has a tendency to tryout every pairing before getting to the right pairing. It really is simple to get the lineup choices right.

Sorry man, didn’t mean to, maybe it was how the question was phrased. So I’m blaming Gate.

His endless blending undermines continuity and familiarity. Same time, he knows better than most when it’s not working too.

I think we were more laughing WITH you, than AT you. We all feel your frustration.

Sorry, to be clear I was not offended. I just thought it was funny. My wife was in the car this morning and called me an ass when she heard the question and “BK”.

I also was impressed with the side stepping of the Crow rumor posted on here yesterday. If it is true the Hawks are playing it smart because fans turn quickly and it would not be his first off the ice issue.

We try real hard to avoid the personal crap. Now, if a guy gets arrested and charged, different story. Until that point, we try to really keep it to hockey, and even then, it’s a legal/team matter mostly anyway.

Well, we have something in common with our significant others. lol I kind of left it dangling, to see if there was any substance to it

Good cast, thought the point that the Hawks needing Jeff glass to motivate themselves,(all be it a nice story) when there out of the playoffs. Points to legitimately underpants ruining issue going forward with the veterans mindset.
