BREAKING: Kraken send Marcus Johansson to Washington Capitals

Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis continued compiling his cupboard full of draft picks by unloading yet another depth player.

Francis sent forward Marcus Johansson back to the Washington Capitals. Johansson was drafted by the Capitals in the first round (24th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed by the Kraken in August.

In return, the Kraken acquired Daniel Sprong, a 2022 fourth-round draft pick, and a 2023 sixth-round draft pick.

The Kraken have now acquired 10 future draft picks for six roster players within the last week. Stay tuned for any more deals before noon PDT today.
