BREAKING: Blackhawks ink Dach to entry-level deal

The Blackhawks announced today that they have come to terms with first round draft pick Kirby Dach on a three-year entry-level contract.

The 18-year-old native of St. Albert, Alberta, was selected by the Blackhawks in the first round (third overall) of the 2019 NHL entry draft on June 21. He played this past season with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League, where he was the leagues third leading scorer with 73 points (25 goals, 48 assists) in 62 games.

Dach is expected to get a solid look this coming training camp, and has an outside shot to make the Blackhawks for this upcoming season. The contract is for the rookie maximum, $925,000 per season.
