Kraken sign Tye Kartye to entry-level contract

The Seattle Kraken announced a player signing during their day off on Tuesday. Noted Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds alum and Kraken General Manager Ron Francis told Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic that the team has signed 20-year-old Greyhounds center Tye Kartye to a three-year entry-level deal with an annual average value of $925,000.

Kartye was part of the Kraken developmental camp this past fall as a free agent, as well as the Toronto Maple Leafs’ camp in 2019, and signed with the team on the first day teams are eligible to sign players to entry-level contracts. The 6-foot-1, 198-pound forward has scored 33 goals and 58 points in 45 games this season and is expected to be part of the new Kraken AHL team, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, next season.
